David Bear
David Bear is the President and Owner of BFRx Hospitality, leading the organization as it transitions from Bear Family Restaurants into a multi-brand hospitality group. Raised “under the Golden Arches,” David joined the family business after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University, and spent more than three decades helping grow it from four to thirty-five McDonald’s locations across northern Illinois.
Known for his people-first leadership and dedication to community partnership, David has built a career around elevating experiences and bringing teams together. BFRx’s first venture with K9 Resorts reflects that same commitment to care and excellence — and aligns perfectly with David and Nicole’s shared love for dogs and belief that hospitality should extend to every member of the family.
As BFRx enters its next chapter, David remains focused on carrying forward the Bear Family’s legacy of integrity, service, and meaningful impact in the communities they serve.
Nicole Bear
Nicole Bear is the Vice President of BFRx Hospitality, helping lead the organization as it transitions from Bear Family Restaurants into a new, multi-brand hospitality group. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Having been part of the company since 2010, Nicole has played a key role in shaping its culture of service, community partnership, and people-first leadership.
Known for her ability to connect with others and elevate experiences, Nicole brings a thoughtful, empathetic approach to every project and partnership. Her passion for hospitality — especially as a devoted dog mom — makes BFRx’s first venture with K9 Resorts a deeply meaningful next step, blending her commitment to exceptional care with her love for animals.
As BFRx grows into its next chapter, Nicole remains focused on carrying forward the Bear Family’s legacy with integrity, purpose, and a genuine dedication to the communities they serve.
